I mentioned the state of streets in the general Fountainbridge area the other day ...... and referred to the fact that charges for 'special uplifts' were on the rise once again, as part of the myriad of detail contained within last week's budget.
Well - having now double-checked - the price for a 'special uplift' is actually rising from £20 (first uplift is free) to £23 (first uplift still free) from the 1st April 2009.
That's a 15% increase.
Somewhat above the current rate of inflation :-(
Could there be a cause and affect going on here??
